ABOUT

Play for Tomorrow is an initiative that aims to utilize play and entrepreneurship as a productive and positive channel for social change. Through this belief, we have brought together leading professional sports teams, community development organizations, designers, engineers, scientists, and thought leaders across multiple sectors. Thanks to the active engagement of public and private stakeholders, change agents are invited to redesign, re-frame, and innovate solutions that aim to solve social challenges faced by our youth today.

JIIWA

Toronto

For Sports Foundations wanting to measure their social impact investments, jiiWA is a platform that helps them simply and effectively track, evaluate, and report on their programs and impact. With a lack of measurement and evaluation, a high demand on existing resources, and limited collaboration in the industry, jiiWA helps collect and connect the dots.

OPENSPORTS KC

Kansas City

OpenSports KC worked with sport organizations to build a user-facing mobile app-based solution to address the issues of finding safe, affordable, and relevant sporting opportunities for youth in Kansas City. This platform will impact 70% of the youth in Kansas City that do not meet healthy levels of physical activity.

POP KC

Kansas City

Places of Play KC is helping Kansas City communities design and build the future of play, block by block where Kansas City’s kids live: best practices for safe places of play; Identifying and creating safe places of play; and growing and connecting a safe play community with emerging technology.

X-MOVEMENT

Toronto

We create extraordinary experiences designed to help move something deeper. Our experiences help people connect to themselves, others and the world around them. Using emotional, social and environmental literacy fused with movement, we help build positive, healthy and energized school communities.

SARA

Toronto

SARA uses Snapchat as an educational platform. When timed appropriately, Snapchat Stories can be used to reinforce concepts learned to increase retention, based on the “curve of forgetting” principle: Snapchat Stories last 24 hours, and can be viewed as many times within that time period.

REP AI

Kansas City

REP helps everyone build better and healthier athletes by open-sourcing physical curriculums so that anyone can find or create the best training programs. Within this platform is a powerful tool – “CoachBot.AI ” – that is leveraging advances in Deep Learning to autonomously capture human movement through video. REP is democratizing athletic development.

PLAYCREATOR

Toronto

The PlayCreator App is creating physically active play in the palm of your hand. Just as Uber provides a carservice with no cars, PlayCreator provides a play-service with no equipment, using just what's around you to remove all barriers to play. The App is a youth-centric platform that supports and empowers creative play for children of all ages. Our users can learn a game taught to them by a celebrity they love, or create their own game and share their experience with the community.

UPPTACK STUDIOS

Toronto

UPPTACK STUDIOS is a media company in Toronto redefining family time for parents, kids, and explorers at heart. We love learning, storytelling, and playing. Our mission is to use all three to craft fulfilling digital experiences for youth audiences on both emerging and traditional platforms.

STRIVING FOR RESULTS

Palo Alto

Motivate is a daily reminder and notification system that helps push goals, mindsets, and encouragement geared towards children and youth. Imagine your favourite sports star getting you ready for a day of excellence in new and exciting ways every morning. We can then track and reward the progress of our users using sports tickets, gifts and even the voice or appearance of their favorite athlete.
